Tiszacsege — Dorottyaudvar

Welcome to Dorottya Udvar, two traditional Hungarian cottages at the edge of the peaceful village of Tiszacsege, deep in the traditional heartland plains of Hungary.

The village of Tiszacsege was first mentioned in the documents of 1067 and indicated as “Chege” by Lazarus’ Tabula Hungariae – the first printed map of Hungary in 1528.

The surrounding area has always been of economic importance since the gray cattle herds of the ‘Puszta’ found a shallow crossing on the river Tisza and as a salt trade route from the Transylvanian salt mines to the cities of Western Europe.
